Requirements to Join the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as a Commissioned Officer: Education, Experience, and Skills
Educational Qualifications
- Matric Science: Candidates must have passed Matriculation with a Science background (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) with at least 50% marks.
- For Specific Trades: For certain positions like Aero Trades and PF&DI, a minimum of 60% marks in Matric Science is required.
- English Marks: A minimum of 33 marks out of 50 (or equivalent) in English is usually required. Higher marks may be needed for specialized positions.
2. Age Requirements
- For Aero Trades: Candidates should be between 15 to 20 years old as of 30th June 2025.
- For PF&DI: Candidates must be between 16 to 22 years of age.
- For Other Positions: The age requirement varies depending on the trade, but it generally falls between 17 to 24 years.
3. Physical Fitness
- Height: Candidates must meet the height requirements, which vary for different positions but generally fall between 163 cm to 188 cm.
- Physical Test: A physical test is mandatory and includes:

- 1-mile Running: Complete in 8 minutes or less.
